Taufeeq Elahi is Pisces, born 15 March 1986 in Srinagar, India. In 1988 his family moved to Iran where they spent the next 4 years. His formal education started in Iran as a kinder garden kid. He stayed in Hamadan, and Nahavand. He has one sister who's a family medicine specialist in the UK. His dad is a general medicine specialist and mother a biochemist.
His profession is credited to his father who bought him a BB size dry cell, a torch bulb and a piece of wire when he was 4 yrs old back in Iran. Eventually he tried putting 2 cells in series, and that led to a hobby, the hobby changed into passion and passion into profession.
The family moved to Pakistan in 1992. He continued his education in the Federal Government School Muzaffarabad, where they stayed for a few months before moving to Abbottabad. He joined Pakistan International Public School till his class 6th. APS for 3 years for his 7th, 8th, and 9th grade, and back to PIPS for his 10th, 11th and 12th grade. He did his Bachelors in Electrical Engineering from University of Engineering & Technology, Taxila.
Taufeeq has never been into any sports like most guys. He had other things to do even in his early age like going for proper art classes to learn sketch, pastel and water color. Most of his life was and is more like self contained, with a very little circle, and only a few friends. Most of his time was spent in front of the easel, or fighting with his elder sister, or in front of the computer screen or on the electronic work bench.
He has been to India several times and absolutely loves his stay back at his birth place. He is multi lingual, and is good with English, Urdu, Kashmiri and Persian.
He bought his first solder iron in 3rd grade and his first multi meter during his 4th grade. He is very possessive about his army of solder irons, and is one of the things that he rarely wishes to lend to anyone. Now, he has his own fully equipped lab in Islamabad. The era of computers for him started in 1997 and he straight away got hold of visual basic 5.0 in 1998. Web development moved side by side, with he uploading his first HTML page from a net cafe!
His days of hacker underworld also started in his 9th grade. His basic understanding of networks, programming, operating systems, social engineering and reverse engineering is credited to his hacking experience.
In the university he was used to be known as a person who knows a lot other than the 4 year engineering course! This is because the probably thinks theory is lame and practical stuff makes more sense for him; because wheel must not be reinvented; and that there are more interesting problems in the world to be solved than arguing upon why did the chicken cross the road or Einstein never comb his hair.
He is inspired by Leonardo Da Vinci, his work, his imagination, for who he was and how he amazed the world.
Finally for the media, he loves Stargate franchise, the original movie, the two TV shows, and its literature. Also the good old little green man series - the X-Files, PSI factor and the Star Trek. His favorite cartoons have been The Real Adventures of Jonny Quest, The Centurions, Captain Planet and of course all the classic cartoons by Disney.
For the gaming scene, he is a total fan of Tomb Raider, and has been playing everything Eidos Interactive have ever created under this title, right from the first Tomb Raider in 1997 to its latest release. He also has been a fan of Monkey Island, Unreal Tournament and Counter Strike.
